Notice on the Application for the 2026 Guangdong Provincial Quantum Science Strategic Initiative

Dear all,

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Quantum Science Center (GBA-QSC) is now accepting applications for the 2026?Guangdong Provincial Quantum Science Strategic Initiative. Detailed requirements are as follows:

1.Funding fields

Programs are categorized into Major, Key, and General types for application. Specific requirements are detailed in the Application Guidelines (Annex 1-Guide).

?

2.Funding amount and duration

I.Major?Program: Funding intensity is approximately RMB 8-10 million per project, with an implementation period of 5 years.

II.Key Program: Funding intensity is approximately RMB 2 million per project, with an implementation period of 3 years.

III.General Program: Funding intensity is up to RMB?500,000 per project, with an implementation period of 3 years.

3.Procedure of application

Applicants must complete the following steps via the dedicated application system (http://119.147.33.27:7901/#/login):

I.Register a personal account;

II.Join a host institution (affiliated organization);

III.Complete a personal CV/resume;

IV.Fill out and upload the application form and supporting documents online.

Submission Deadline: All materials must be submitted online by 12:00 PM (noon), May?6, 2026. No hardcopy submission is required.

4. Other requirements

A. Project Leader Requirements

I.Each project must designate 1 project leader.

II.A project leader may apply for only 1 project in the same year.

III.The total number of ongoing and newly applied projects led by a single individual must not exceed 2.

B. Application Document Preparation

I.The application must include a project proposal that clearly defines:

Project objectives and scope;

II.Expected outcomes and core performance indicators;

III.A detailed budget breakdown (e.g., personnel, materials, equipment).

Equipment costs may not account for 100% of the total budget.

※Major projects are subject to a budgeting system, while key and general projects are subject to a lump-sum system.

C. Language Requirements

I.The main body of the application must be written in Chinese.

II.The project abstract must be provided in both Chinese and English.

III.Intellectual Property (IP) Statement

IV.All intellectual property rights (e.g., patents, publications, software) arising from funded projects shall be legally owned by the project host institution.

V.The following acknowledgment must be included in all outputs:“廣東省量子科學(xué)戰(zhàn)略專(zhuān)項(xiàng)資助（Supported by Guangdong Provincial Quantum Science Strategic Initiative）(Project Assignment/Contract No. XXX).” ?

※No paper application materials need to be submitted during the project application and review process. If written materials are required, separate notice will be given.
